Ash started in the games industry, back in 1993; ran away to start his own company making virtual dancing robots for raves (it was 1997) before co-founding United Visual Artists, which created pioneering real time visuals for Massive Attack’s ‘100th Window’ tour in 2003. UVA went on to work with a diverse range of live acts from U2 through Jay-Z, spawning a real-time 3D visualiser-based media server (called d3) that eventually got spun off into its own company (now called disguise). Ash is based in London, but occasionally pops up in NYC, LA, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
